General Questions

What is RateARear.com?

RateARear is a free ass rating site. You can rate other users pics on a scale of 1 to 10, or create your own free account and upload your pic anonymously for rating. You can also visit the Hall of Fame of Hall of Shame to view the highest and lowest rated pics.

How do I start rating rears?

Simply visit our main page, and it will randomly show you a rear end to rate. Click in the blue and red bar located under the pic to register your rating on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best, and 1 the worst. They system will then show you another pic to rate. The stats on the pic you just rated can be viewed in the upper right hand corner of the page.

Can I just view pics in certain categories?

Yes, you can use the "show me" drop down menus located under the rating bar to view pictures by category. You can select more then one category to narrow your selection further.

What is the Hall of Fame/Shame and how can I view it?

The Hall of Fame is a real-time list of the highest rated pics on the site. The Hall of Shame is a real-time list of the lowest rated pics. You can find it by clicking the links located at the very bottom of almost every page. A pic must receive a certain number of votes to be included in these lists. You can also use the "Best | Worst" search form in the right hand column to view the best/worst pics in certain categories.

How can I read comments others have left about a certain pic, and/or post my own comment?

Simply click the "View Comments" link located under the picture, and the message board for that picture will open in a new window. The number within the link represents how many comments have been left for that picture. No number means no comments have been left yet.

How do I contact a RateARear user?

Since RateARear is an anonymous service, we do not give out the e-mail addresses of our users. The user may choose to make their e-mail address public by including it in the caption of their picture, in which case it will appear underneath the picture. You can click the view comments link underneath the pic and leave a message for the user that includes your e-mail contact. However, the message will be publicly viewable to anyone who reads the comments for that pic. There is also no guarantee that the user will ever read and/or respond to your message.

Account Questions

Click here and fill out the form, then click the "Register" button. IMPORTANT: The system will send you an email with a verification link to click on. You must click on this link to activate your account. If you do not receive the email, please check your spam folder. If it's not there, please contact the staff.

First, you must create a free account if you haven't already. Then login to the stats area, and click the browse button. Select the picture from your hard drive that you want to upload. It must be a JPEG or GIF. Then scroll down and click the update now button. After the file uploads, you should see a thumbnail image above the browse button that shows your pic. If you don't see the thumbnail image, try clicking the refresh/reload button on your browser. If that won't work, make sure that you picture meets the "file format requirements" which are listed in these FAQs

How long does it take for my account to be validated by the administrator so people can vote on my pic?

All pictures submitted to RateARear are reviewed to make sure they meet our submission guidelines. This process up to 12 hours. During that time, your picture will not be available on RateARear for voting. When you picture is approved/denied, you'll receive a notice by e-mail.

Your picture must be a JPEG (.jpg) or GIF (.gif) file. The image pixel width should be at least 100 and not more then 800. The height should be more then 120 and less then 600 pixels. The file size should not be more then 250 kb. JPEG format is best. If you need to resize your image in order to meet these requirements, then follow these instructions.

Don't worry! It's not just you. Everyone gets lots of 1's, so everyone's rating is effected by it. Every persons taste is different, and some people may not like even the most perfect rears. It's also likely that some people give everyone a 1. Due to the nature of this type of voting, it's very rare for any picture to have an average rating above 7.0. Similarly, it's also rare for a pic to have an average of less then 3.0. A rating of 5-6 should probably be considered average, and above 6 high.

Since you can't vote for yourself, the system won't show you your pic when surfing through the site. You can view your pic directly by using the direct link to you voting page, which has the following format.

Be sure to replace <your username> with, you guessed it, your username! :-)

Every picture must meet our Submission Guidelines in order to be approved by the administrator.

Login to the stats area, then check the "remove my photo" box. Finally, click the "Update Now" button.

Login to the stats area, and click the browse button. Select the picture from your hard drive that you want to upload. It must be a JPEG or GIF. Then scroll down and click the "update now" button. After the file uploads, you should see that the thumbnail image now shows the new pic. If it still shows the old pic, try clicking the refresh/reload button on your browser. If that still won't work, follow the instructions on this page to remove your photo, and then follow the instructions to upload a photo for rating.

Login to the stats area, scroll down, and click the link that says "add one more of your images for rating". This will create a "clone account" based on your main account, and log you in under it. You'll be able to access you clone accounts by logging in under you main account, and clicking the links that will appear for you clone accounts. Now simply follow the usual procedure (listed on this page) to upload a pic to your new clone account.

Please use the form located here to retrieve your lost password. Simply enter your username into the form, and the password will be e-mailed to you.

Try real hard to remember! :-) Look for the e-mail you received when you signed up. Next, try using the Pic Directory to locate your account. Finally, if you still can't figure it out, please contact the staff and be sure to include the email address listed on your account.

Please use the password retrieval form to determine that you have the correct username and password. If you determine that you're using the correct username and password, please contact the staff and be sure to include your username.

Make sure that your pic wasn't accidentally uploaded to a "clone account". See "How do I upload another pic to be rated?" on this page for more info on clone accounts. If you didn't upload any pic to you main account, but you did upload a pic to your clone account, then when you log in, the main account would still be unvalidated. If you click the "To Photo #" links towards the bottom, which will only appear if you have clone accounts, then you can switch to the account with the pic. We suggest either moving the pic from the clone account to your main account, by deleting the clone and uploading it to your main account, or just upload another pic onto your main account. Every main account should have a pic uploaded.

Another explanation could be that you changed the categories your pic was in. When you make changes to your pics settings, the account goes back into pending to be reviewed again.
